I miss my Dad

Michael Graham Baker, 59, died Sept. 5, 2009, in Tuscaloosa, Al., following an automobile accident. He was born in Dallas, Tex. on Oct. 7, 1949. He grew up in Memphis, graduating from Oakhaven High School in 1967 and receiving his Bachelors’s of Business Administration from then Memphis State University in 1971. As a teenager, Mike entered the family grocery business of Baker Brothers’ Big Stars and later opened Piggly Wigglys in Memphis. In the early 1990s, he founded Cinemagic video stores. He is survived by his father, Alvin Baker; his wife of 36 years, Melissa Ham Baker and their five children, Jennifer Blair Baker, Jodie Fasullo and her husband, Nick, Emily Matz and her husband, Brad, Stephanie Lee Baker, and Sarah Blackbourn and her husband, Marshall; his two sisters, Georgia Stanton and June McClellan; and two grandsons, Porter Fasullo and Graham Matz. Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave., has charge. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 8, 5-8 p.m. and the funeral will be held Wednesday, September 9, at 10 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Special Kids and Families, Madonna Day School or a charity of the donor’s choice.
